Get to know an HDFS Intern – Lucy RileyJanuary 13, 2016
My name is Lucy Riley and I am a proud third generation Auburn student. I am a senior majoring in Human Development and Family Studies and hope to continue my education in HDFS through Auburn’s graduate school after graduating in May 2016. I grew up in Springville, Alabama where my horse, Jack, still lives today. I know from personal experience how much joy a horse can bring to an individual.
On the first day of my internship, I got to know the Storybook leadership team and my fellow interns. With my equestrian background, I felt right at home in the Papa Bear Barn at SBF. After tidying the barn, I got up close and personal with everybody’s favorite equine volunteer – Dr. Watson (you can check out him out here).
This semester I look forward to helping to organize and prepare for our annual fancy fundraiser – Kentucky Derby Auction & Dinner on May 7. Also, I am excited to be a part of this ministry, which combines my love of horses and my desire to serve people.
