Summer Sessions

Sessions continued as the hot summer sun continued to blaze. Despite the heat, our 40 wonderful riders continued improving their fine and gross motor skills, coordination and balance through our weekly riding sessions. On our last day of sessions our volunteers and participants went on an adventurous scavenger hunt! Their treasure was a surprise ice cream party to celebrate such a wonderful season!

Field Trips

Because summer is not as busy of a time we are able to host a number of field trips. This month we were fortunate enough to meet new friends from the BigHouseFoundation, EAMHC and God’s Little Lambs preschool. We had a fun day of horseback riding, learning how to properly care for horses, creativity time, games and fun!

The Big House Foundation brought a group of 12 kids for a fun day at the Farm. The BigHouse, Inc. is a Christ-centered non-profit organization that strives to meet the needs of children in foster care. “Their main goal is to provide opportunities and experiences of a typical childhood to children who so desperately need to be kids. They strive to show foster children that not only do people in their community care about their well being - they are loved unconditionally by a Heavenly Father."

Work Groups

We would like to thank the Cornerstone Church for coming out and helping us with a work day. They brought around 80 people from their church family and did various chores around the farm. After three hours of greatly appreciated labor, the farm looked amazing! Thank you so much to Cornerstone church for always thinking of Storybook and for letting God's light shine through them at the farm and around the community.

The Auburn United Methodist Church youth group hosts a full week of community involvement and showing God's love through service called Sweat Week. Throughout the week, the youth group visited various non-profit organizations and other locations where service was needed and volunteered their time and energy to help these places. During their time here they cleaned the barn, helped groom horses, interacted with our visitors, worked in the pastures and encouraged our staff and visitors through their self-less attitudes and acts of service. We are so grateful to them and truly appreciate everything they did for us! You guys are awesome!!
